You have an Aspire one model ZG5 that you just did a System recovery on. Now it takes forever to shutdown. What can you do to fix this?
Your user profile might be causing your slow shutdown. You can download and install user profile hive cleanup service. Double click on UPHClean-Setup.msi to install it.
Once installed it is set to be an automatic service at Windows startup. Reboot your computer after installation and then perform a test shutdown. Hopefully, that cleanup service will fix your issue.
It’s slower to shutdown the longer you have the computer on. Does that change anything? Not necessarily, that UPH cleanup service basically makes sure your Windows profile is cleaned up properly before your computer shutsdown.
If this fixes your issue then it shouldn’t matter how long you have your computer on. These instructions were written for an Acer Aspire one model ZG5 running Windows XP.
